ചെന്നൈ: മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര മുന്‍ഗവര്‍ണര്‍ ഡോ.പി.സി.അലക്‌സാണ്ടര്‍ (90) അന്തരിച്ചു. ചെന്നൈയിലെ മദ്രാസ് മെഡിക്കല്‍ മിഷന്‍ ആസ്പത്രിയില്‍ ബുധനാഴ്ച രാവിലെ 8.30നായിരുന്നു അന്ത്യം. അര്‍ബുദ രോഗബാധിതനായിരുന്നു. ഞായറാഴ്ചയാണ് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ മെഡിക്കല്‍ മിഷന്‍ ആസ്പത്രിയില്‍ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചത്.  ഐ.എ.എസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥനായിരുന്ന അദ്ദേഹം മഹാരാഷ്ട്രാ, തമിഴ്‌നാട് സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലെ ഗവര്‍ണറായിരുന്നു. ഗോവ ഗവര്‍ണറുടെ ചുമതലയും വഹിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിമാരായ ഇന്ദിരാഗാന്ധിയുടെയും രാജീവ് ഗാന്ധിയുടെയും പ്രിന്‍സിപ്പല്‍ സെക്രട്ടറിയായി പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. രാജ്യസഭാംഗവും ആയിരുന്നു. 1921 മാര്‍ച്ച് 21 ന് മാവേലിക്കരയിലാണ് ജനിച്ചത്. സുപ്രധാന വെളിപ്പെടുത്തലുകളുടെ പേരില്‍ 'ത്രൂ ദി കോറിഡോര്‍സ് ഓഫ് പവര്‍' എന്ന ആത്മകഥ ശ്രദ്ധ നേടിയിരുന്നു. ബ്രിട്ടനിലെ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ഹൈക്കമ്മീഷണര്‍ ആയും പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
