There used to be lot of discussions through this blog a few weeks back on this subject and 99% of the comments were against the Church favouring such a serial. There were good efforts from some of our Bishops too in this direction. Now ultimately, the launching of the serial has come to a reality and one of our Bishops is going to light the BHADRADEEPAM at the official commecement of the shooting, thereby expressing the stand that the CHURCH is supporting the serial, as I understand. In this back ground, can we take it for granted that Pulikkoottil Thirumeni, a representative of Jesus Christ, has gone through the script and got convinced that there is nothing in it which may backfire on the Church at a later date? But still, I feel that a Bishop should have had other important services to attend rather than taking part in the shooting ceremony of a serial. If he has understood fully what he is doing, well fine, let him do it. Even otherwise, who am I to pass comments on what a Bishop does. A Bishop should be much more matured than me. Yes, there is some substance in what Mr AV Thomas wrote in his book "REBELLIOUS HOUSE VS SPIRITUAL HOUSE".By the way, can someone throw some light on the issue that to what extend a Bishop can act without the concurrence of the Holy Synod? If a BAR HOTEL is stared in the name of Saint, can a Bishop inaugurate it?

How can we make sure that they adhere to FACTS and not fiction?

Also, at a time when even jacobite peope are attempting to create a REBEL parumala Church near Thirumeni's kabr we have to study the script and give them proper guidance.

We also have to set conditions when they do shootings in Parumal Church and the like.
The Church should set up a council adn study the script and give necessary guidances too. After the release please do not say that we have not seen and heard it. So keep in touch with the director and if possibel call them for a meetingto discuus the matter.

Dear Mr. George
A coin have two sides, like-wise for every facts we can approach either in positively or negatively. That depends upon individual’s broad mentality. If merits are there, can be de merits too. That does not mean to conclude in a negative approach.
I can understand the society’s feeling about actor’s moral sides. There life style may be so. But the moral side of the people who claims of high value in the society are not exposed in the society. It is good that even though, Almighty has given us His Holy Spirit in us, but not given the same power to measure their hearts, thoughts and deeds. How many will be there to stand worthy if it was so? Our father Abraham will not come again and intercede for us. How many of us will be worthy to stand in front of Him and approach His Holy Altar and partake the Holy Qurbana? Who am I to judge others as I have a big log in my eye? With all human weakness and of bitter experience with spiritual leaders I do not feel any difference between the film/mega serial actors and our chief celebrants, who approach the sacraments as a programme or performance.
Let me share some bitter truth as the chief celebrant of the Holy Qurbana used to ask to a laity, how was my performance? I started hearing it even at my17th age. Some deacons and priests asked us the same in 1967 at Puthiacavu St.Mary’s cathedral Mavelikara after Holy Qurbana in English. Even though an adolescent, I reacted on them. Do you not feel shame to consider it a show? We youngsters shared this feeling with our Spiritual Guru George Achen (Osthathios Thirumeni) at St. Pauls mission centre on his next Saturday evening class.
Then who is worthy? Are we not worthy? The answer is in the Holy Qurbana itself. Though no one is worthy, because of His abundant blessing He indwelt in us and made worthy to receive His living Body and Blood.
Let me ask some more questions?
During the Holy Qurbana do we not enjoy the Heavenly fellowship or not irrespective of the individual nature of the chief celebrant and its participants?
When you had watched the Film, passion of Christ, irrespective of the actor’s moral side haven’t you imagined Jesus himself and felt as witnessed His suffering and unknowingly tears comes out from you or not?
I hope the organizers of this serial might have briefed our beloved thirumeni, about its contents and have convinced about its merits.
Let the others and even his own church knows more about Parumala Thirumeni and imitates him. Let the heresies hear from the witnesses about the impact of intercession and the blessing they have received from the Almighty God due to his intercession, like Abraham our father and Moses who redeemed Israelites on His behalf and interceded three times for the Israelites.
