JACOBITE PRIEST ARRESTED AND TAKEN CUSTODY AND REMANDED BY THE COIMBATORE POLICE.
The Coimbatore Police has arrested Fr MATHEW MANALICHARA, Vicar of St MARYS Jacobite syrian Church, Sanganur, Coimbatore, on 16-6-2010 and remanded to Judicial Custody in Judicial Magistrate Court no-1 in Coimbatore for assaulting the Church Secretary Reji Abraham grieviously injuring seriously and he has been admitted in the Coimbatore Government Hospital Casuality ward. The occurence happended in front of the Diocese Bishop Isaac Mar Osthathious who was witness as per the F.I.R and he interfered and stopped the secretary trying to hit back. It had happened when the Achen was questioned by the Secretary regarding church funds. This has created a black mark in the christian community of Coimbatore.
